Brother Joe was born and raised here is Carroll County. He is married to his wife Patricia (Pat) and they have two children and eight grand-children. In his words:

I was raised and was taught the gospel in Cove Hill Baptist Church and continued to worship here all but eight years of my adult life.

When I returned, I once again began to work and serve in the church. I have served on many committees, taught Sunday School for eighteen years and served as a Deacon. I was licensed to preach in March, 1994 and did quite a bit of Pulpit Supply in Carroll and surrounding counties but didn’t really answer the call to preach until 2004. I was ordained into the ministry in October, 2004 and worked as Associate Pastor with Rev. Larry Smith and Rev. Bern Kiser.

I was senior Pastor of Cove Hill from May, 2007 to October 2024 and now continue service as Associate Pastor. I am a student of life long work and service in the church with many years of personal study of God’s Word.

I know that it’s only by God’s grace and the promise of His Holy Spirit that I am able to do what He has called me to do.
